Sprint becomes latest carrier to cap ‘unlimited data’ at 5GB

Sprint LogoIn all truthfulness, how these companies manage to advertise ‘unlimited data’ while capping it at 5GB and not getting sued is beyond us. Regardless, effective July 13th, Sprint will cap their data amounts at 5GB, falling in line with the other major carriers. One interesting note, however: Sprint is also imposing a 300MB off-network limit. No word as to whether existing subscribers will be grandfathered in - if not, the ETF waiving policy should apply, as this would constitute a “material adverse effect” on the contract.

Not exactly what we would do given Sprint’s current situation. Hopefully, the Simply Everything plan will remain as advertised and not convert into the ‘Simply Everything, Sort Of’ plan…
