Nintendo Wii Fit coming to America on May 21

wiifitAmerica is getting Fit - with Nintendo’s Wii Fit that is. The company has announced it will officially launch its Wii Fit on May 21 in America.

The highly anticipated exercise-orientated gaming system allows users to partake in activities such as yoga, aerobics, strength training, and balance games without leaving their homes. Perfect for couch potatoes everywhere, Nintendo is hoping to get Americans moving with its new gaming system.

Riding on the success of the original Wii, the Wii Fit offers a combination of fun and fitness that can be done alone or with friends. The main accessory is the Wii Balance Board, which reads body movements and translates them onscreen. The Balance Board measures your center of balance, Body Mass Index (BMI), and body control.

Games included with the Wii Fit system are hula hoop, step aerobics, running, ski jumping, soccer heading, and many different yoga poses. The Wii Fit will be available on May 21 for US$89.99.
