HP to launch teen product line
At an event in Palo Alto focused on technology and youth, Ameer Karim, director of HP’s future and innovations group for consumer PC’s, said the company plans to launch a technology line directed toward teenagers and their digital lifestyles. According to HP, they have assembled a “teen council” to analyze and interpret what the generation wants. “We’ve used this teen council to help us with everything from the design of the products, the user interface and the box design, even including how the Web site will look. That’s a major transformation for a company like HP, which has been much more focused on an older crowd,” Karim said while discussing the idea.
Karim did not detail the products that would be launched, only going as far as to say that the products would begin to launch in the fall.
