Intel: Apple is releasing a touchscreen tablet; wait, no they’re not
Interesting news coming out of Intel’s German unit this morning: Hannes Schwaderer, head of the company’s German operations, stated earlier that Apple will be using the new Intel Atom processor in a future “iPhone.” The device, at 720 x 480, is larger than the original iPhone. Additionally, the processors are rumored to be released in June - around the time of WWDC.
Shortly thereafter, Intel’s Mike Cato released a statement saying that Schwaderer’s statements were of a hypothetical nature - they simply believe that Apple’s iPhone is part of a broad marketing strategy, referred to as the “mobile internet device.”
