Bill Gates: Walls should be computers

TouchWallAlthough the idea of having $10,000 walls most likely is unappealing to families with children, the idea of having a fully computerized room is an interesting concept nonetheless. Gates, speaking at the CEO Summit, unveiled the TouchWall, a 4-foot by 6-foot ’screen’ intended to register motion.  In addition to the TouchWall, he also introduced Plex, the accompanying software.  The device uses infrared and laser technologies to register touch motions.

In the introduction, however, Gates proved the infancy of the device: ”Whenever I go up and touch it, the software will notice it” he said.  Unfortunately, the device didn’t agree - instead, it activated a few minutes later.
