RIM’s HSDPA-enabled BlackBerry Bold 9000 (Meteor) is officially announced
Anticipating the June intro and hoopla of Apple’s 3G iPhone, RIM officially announced its newest 3G BlackBerry today, the Bold 9000 (often referred to as the Meteor). Here is a quick run-down of the Bold’s specifications:
- quad-band EDGE and tri-band HSDPA connectivity
- WiFi (802.11a/b/g)
- full QWERTY keyboard
- 128MB Flash/1GB on-board memory
- microSD support
- 480×320 resolution display
- GPS
- Bluetooth w/ A2DP stereo support
- trackball navigation
- video and media player
- USB 2.0
The new 3G BlackBerry Bold 9000 offers 5 hours talk time or 13 days of standby time and will be available globally this summer. It will likely show up first on AT&T, but according to our friend Sascha at PC Magazine, RIM has said that a AWS 3G version is in the works for T-Mobile USA.
