Zune 2.5 adds TV downloads and social networking features

zuneMicrosoft has released an update to its Zune software. The newly released update provides gapless playback and auto playlists for its users. The company has also expanded Zune’s social networking features and bulked up its video Marketplace by adding 800 TV shows.

Video downloads from Zune’s Marketplace now include NBC, MTV, MTV2, VH1, BET, Comedy Central, and many more network television shows. Videos will cost about US$2 or 160 Microsoft points to download.

Zune Social, which has 2 million users to date, also gets a facelift with new interaction, recommendation, and review features. Additionally, Zune Card playlists are now portable, letting Zune users import music from friends directly to their own players.
