Sprint and Nextel | Done?
While still firmly entrenched in the grinding of the rumor mill, The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Sprint is considering selling off its struggling Nextel brand, according to people “familiar with the situation.” Cyren Call, created by Nextel founder Morgan O’Brien is currently attempting to round up a group of investors to purchase the brand. Their goal? A nationwide wireless public safety network.
Many are speculating that the spinoff of Nextel and its struggles would create a more desirable acquisition target for Deutsche Telekom. After writing off the brand in February, we would certainly have to agree.
