Asus’ mini Eee PC 900 set for U.S. launch on May 12

Asustek has confirmed that its ultra small Eee PC 900 will be coming to America. The 900 is set to wash ashore on May 12. The Asus Eee PC 900 will be offered in two flavors; XP with 12GB of storage (4GB of flash memory, 8GB solid state drive), and Linux with 20GB of storage (4GB of flash, 16GB solid state drive).

Other features of the Eee PC 900 include 8.9″ display screen with 1024×600 pixel resolution, WiFi connectivity, Intel UMA graphics card, 1.3 megapixel camera, 3 USB ports, VGA out, and an SD/MMC card slot. The Asus Eee PC 900 weighs in at 990g (2.2lbs) and measures 225mm x 170mm x 20mm-34mm (8.9″ x 6.7″ x 0.8″-1.3″). The low cost micro laptop will be available for US$549.99 for either OS version.
