Windows XP SP3 released to the public

The new pack that offers 1,100 hotfixes and patches, including Network Access Protection and Black Hole Router Detection, can be had for as little as free at Microsoft’s website and/or through Windows Update. Service Pack 3 will breathe the last Microsoft-supported breath of life into the seven year old operating system, as it continues forward with plans to phase out Windows XP beginning on June 30th.

User reception to the new service pack has been lukewarm at best, but we’ll withhold further judgment until we try it and/or we see more reviews.
