SIMable unlocks phones via the SIM card

SIMableToday a new phone unlocking product named SIMable was announced in the UK.  The system works by inserting a microchip shim between the user’s SIM card and the SIM card slot found in the user’s carrier locked phone.  The process requires that the user cut a hole in their SIM card with the included cutting tool - something that supposedly only takes 10 seconds.  Once the hole is made, the SIMable wafer can be attached to the SIM card.  Once installed, the user’s phone is fooled into thinking it is using a SIM from the carrier it is locked to.  Not all phones work with SIMable, but the list of compatible devices is pretty large - and expanding, according to the manufacturer.
