Dell and Lenovo to continue supply of Windows XP after June

xpThe folks over at Dell and Lenovo will continue to offer Microsoft’s XP operating system after Microsoft’s June 30, 2008 deadline. Dell will use “downgrade rights” that comes with Vista’s Business and Ultimate editions and will only support factory-installed OS’.

“For customers who decide to exercise Downgrade Rights on their own, however, please note that Dell will only support the factory-installed operating system. Windows Vista Home Basic and Windows Vista Home Premium do not have this option, as they are not capable of downgrading to Windows XP.”

Microsoft will no longer offer XP for sale after the June 30 deadline - except for UMPCs and notebooks.
