Apple upgrades iMac line with 3.06GHz processor
Rumors do come true! Our recently posted story on Apple updating its iMacs proved true today. Apple has refreshed its range of popular all-in-one desktop computers, the iMac.
The new line sports Intel’s Core 2 Duo Penryn processors, providing users up to 3.06GHz (built to order option), faster graphic options, and more memory.

Entry level 20″ 2.4GHz for US$1199
- 1GB memory
- 250GB hard drive
- ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT with 128MB graphics
Mid-tier 20″ 2.66GHz for US$1499
- 2GB memory
- 320GB hard drive
- ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro with 256GB graphics
High level 24″ 2.8GHz for US$1799
- 2GB memory
- 320GB hard drive
- ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro with 256GB graphics
The built-to-order and top of the line model will get you a 24″ display, 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB memory, 500GB hard drive, and NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS with 512MB graphics for US$2199.
Apple’s iMacs all include built-in WiFi with AirPort Extreme 802.11n, Bluetooth v2.1+EDR, ethernet, 8x double layer SuperDrive, iSight camera, two USB 2.0 ports, and two FireWire ports (one 400 and one 800), onboard stereo speakers and microphone, Apple keyboard, Mighty Mouse, and an Apple remote.
