AMD launches new Phenom, Athlon chips
Announced last Monday, AMD’s “business class” line of Phenom and Athlon chips show a desire to keep itself competitive with Intel in the business chip market. One caveat, however: PC manufacturers will maintain the business class systems for 24 months to keep the machines current in today’s ever changing technology market. HP, Dell, Lenovo, and Fujitsu have committed themselves to offering the product, with HP releasing its Compaq dc5850 Business PC today.
